Absurdly expensive at 69.99/yr
Like another reviewer, I deleted this app when I discovered how much it cost. Seriously? $69.99 a year?! It seems to me that despite technology and the ease of putting new information out in digital form, greed has become epidemic. Printed books used to cost this much. Digitization should have decreased costs of educational materials tremendously but instead prices have skyrocketed. As a practitioner, I realize people are in business to make a living. However, I also feel that sharing knowledge to keep fellow practitioners and our profession up to date should also have a component of good will. We should strive to keep all veterinarians as highly educated as they were the day they graduated. Instead, all types of CE have become ridiculously expensive when in fact the only form to truly have a reason to be expensive is hands on training. Even CE meetings have become exorbitantly expensive. So now a digital formulary, though written by some highly reputable people, has a monthly fee or annual fee that is quite pricey. Ill manage with my North American Compendium and talking with colleagues for now. Though I did not get to use the app, because of the short trial and high cost, I find it hard to believe its worth the cost. Ill look back to visit as more reviews are posted but it would take one hell of a review to get me to overpay for a digital formulary. If it was offered for say, $39-49 for purchase and an update fee of $7-9/yr, with a 30 day free trial, that would be more acceptable.
